UDARAKARSHANA ASANA


 Spread a mat or bed sheet on the floor and sit upon it for the practice of this asana. Now bend your left leg from the knee and put under the hip and keep the knee and tiptoes on the floorTechnique:

        The practice of this asana should be done on a neat and clean place. Spread a mat or bed sheet on the floor and sit upon it for the practice of this asana. Now bend your left leg from the knee and put under the hip and keep the knee and tiptoes on the floor. Thereafter, bend your right leg from the knee and put the heel and tiptoe near the knee of left leg on the floor and keep the knee upward. Keep a distance of 20-25 cm between both the legs. Put both the hands on the knees. Now press your right knee raised upward with the help of right hand forcibly and bring downward close to the knee as much as you can bring but keep attention that knee should remain one inch above from the floor. The mouth should be kept in the line of shoulder while bringing the right knee downward. Stay in this position for sometime and return into normal position. Repeat this activity by changing the legs.  

Benefits:

        This asana is useful in the treatment of indigestion and constipation. Legs pain disappears by the regularly practice of this asana and makes the tiptoes strong. Practice of this asana can be done in case of waist pain and any types of joints disorders.
