Telebide alu ritis (ankol) is smooth, hot in nature, bitter in taste and purgative. It is useful for the treatment of pain, swelling, pitta disorders and kapha disorders. It stops bleeding and alleviates poison of snake and rat.Name in different languages:

Introduction:

          There are two kinds of sage leaved alangium tree as- Long and small, which normally grow in forests and on dry and upstairs soil. It is also found in Himalayan humid fields, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal, Rajasthan, south India and Burma.

Qualities:

          It is smooth, hot in nature, bitter in taste and purgative. It is useful for the treatment of pain, swelling, pitta disorders and kapha disorders. It stops bleeding and alleviates poison of snake and rat. Its fruit is cool in nature, delicious in taste and nutritive. The fruit normalizes tridosha (Vatta, Pitta and Kapha) and ends inflammation, blood disorders, and also cures tuberculosis. It increases body strength too.

Precaution: Taking over quantity of sage leaved alangium is harmful.

Useful in different diseases:

1. Dropsy:

  • Give 1.5 to 5 grams powder of sage leaved alangium’s root to the patient twice a day to fit the liver activity and get relief in dropsy.
  • Take about ¼ grams root of sage leaved alangium 1-2 times in a day and take impure carbonate of potash with it. Using this process helps in urination clearly and clears the stomach.

2. Asthma:

  • Grind fine bark of sage leaved alangium, indian mustard (Rae) and garlic six grams each together. Mix 15 grams jaggery (three years old) in this mixture and prepare tablets from it. After that, give these tablets to the suffered patient to start vomiting and bring out phlegm with it.
  • Grind root of sage leaved alangium with lemon juice and take it in 5 grams quantity before one hour of meal, it ends breathing problems caused by asthma.
  • Take powder of sage leaved alangium with a decoction of Malabar nut to end breathing problems.

3. Diarrhoea:

  • Mix ten grams fruit pulp of sage leaved alangium with two spoons honey and give it to the patient with rice water (wash the rice with water) thrice a day. Using this process is useful to cure diarrhoea.
  • Grind fine 500 milligrams to one gram powder of bark of sage leaved alangium root with rice water (wash the rice with water) and give it to the patient twice a day. It provides relief in all the types of diarrhoea and sprue.

4. Bascillary Dysentery:

  • In case of Bascillary dysentery, giving three ml juice of leaves of sage leaved alangium to the patient with milk to cause vomiting. Because doing such treatment clears the stomach consequently, patient feels relief in diarrhoea.
  • Mix about half gram powder of kurchi bark and half gram bark powder of sage leaved alangium with honey. After that, take this mixture with rice water to get relief in diarrhoea and dysentery.

5. Intestines worms: The person, who suffers from this disease, should take five grams bark powder of sage leaved alangium twice a day to destroy intestines worms.

6. Vomiting: Take three grams powder of sage leaved alangium root (which flower is white) to start vomiting easily.

7. Constipation: The patient should take about ¼ grams powder of sage leaved alangium root in the constipation.

8. Piles: Take one gram bark powder of sage leaved alangium’ root with black pepper to get relief in piles.

9. Gonorrhoea: Mix four ml sesame alkali and five grams pulp of sage leaved alangium fruit with two spoon honey and thereafter give it to the patient twice a day because it provides relief in gonorrhoea. 

10. Spermtorrhoea: Mix four ml sesame alkali and five grams pulp of sage leaved alangium fruit with two spoon honey and thereafter give it to the patient with curd water twice a day because it provides relief in spermtorrhoea.

11. White leprosy:

  • Grind fine bark of sage leaved alangium root, nutmeg, mace and cloves half gram each together. Leprosy is cured by taking this mixture twice a day.
  • Grind bark of sage leaved alangium root and coat it on the affected part, it provides relief in leprosy.
  • White leprosy is cured by applying oil of sage leaved alangium on the affected part.

12. Fever:

  • Take 2-5 grams root powder of sage leaved alangium twice a day to causes sweat and cure seasonable fever.
  • Boil ten grams root of sage leaved alangium, 3 grams castus root, 3 grams pepper and 6 grams beleric myrabalan with one liter water until it remains 1/8 parts then filter it and make cold. Mix some sugar-candy in this preparation and make the patient drink twice a day. It is useful to cure influenza and infected cold and catarrh.
  • Grind 25 grams root of sage leaved alangium and 25 grams dry ginger with water and thereafter coat it on the body, it ends inflammation caused by fever.
  • Warm leaves of sage leaved alangium should be tied on the affected part because it provides relief in the pain of fever.

13. Dengue fever: Boil about ¼ grams bark of sage leaved alangium root and sweet flag root or dry ginger with boiled water of rice and thereafter give it to the patient regularly; it provides relief in dengue fever. Make warm ground leaves of it and tie on the affected part, it provides relief in pain.

14. Inflammation caused fever:

  • If the patient feels inflammation caused by fever, grind fruits of sage leaved alangium with water and rub it on the body, it cures fever and ends inflammation.
  • Grind sage leaved alangium root and dry ginger with water and thereafter rub it on the body; it provides relief in inflammation caused by fever.

15. Excessive Sweat: This disease is cured by taking 2-3 grams powder of sage leaved alangium fruit with a decoction of Malabar nut regularly.

16. Mouth bleeding: Grind five grams fruit’s powder of sage leaved alangium with ten grams sugar-candy and give it to the patient with water. Using this process is useful to stop mouth bleeding.

17. Wound: If the any part of the body has cut from sharp weapon, soak cotton piece in oil of sage leaved alangium seeds and apply it on the affected part, it stops bleeding.

18. Skin diseases: Grind bark of sage leaved alangium root and coat it on the skin to cure all the types of skin diseases.

19. Scorpio poison: In this case, coat ground root of sage leaved alangium on the affected parts and mix this paste with mustard oil and drip in the ear. Using any process provides relief in scorpion bite.

20. Rat’s poison:  Grind root of sage leaved alangium with water and give it to the patient to drink twice or thrice, it alleviates rat’s poison.

21. Snake and other insects bite: Make a decoction by boiling fifteen grams powder of sage leaved alangium root with two liters water and thereafter filter it. Mix 50 grams ghee in this decoction and give it to the patient after every 15 minutes. Using this process starts vomiting and loose motions because of that poison effects become reduce. After that, mix 2.5 grams powder of sage leaved alangium root with a decoction of inner bark of neem and give it to the patient.

22. Influenza: Taking bark of sage leaved alangium root provides relief in influenza. This medicine should be given after boiling with dry ginger and boiled water of rice.

23. Bloody vomiting: Mix sugar-candy with sage leaved alangium and give it to the patient, it prevents mouth bleeding.

24. Loose motion: Mix pulp of sage leaved alangium fruit with honey and give it with boiled water rice to the patient, it provides relief in loose-motions.

25. Fistula: Make warm 100 ml oil of sage leaved alangium with 25 grams wax on fire and mix three grams blue-vitriol in it. After that, coat this mixture on the affected part to get relief in pimples of nerves system.

26. Urticaria:

  • Grind root of sage leaved alangium with water and coat it on the body, it cures urticaria.
  • Urticaria is cured by taking one gram powder of sage leaved alangium root with lukewarm water twice a day.

27. Stomach worms: Take fine powder of bark of sage leaved alangium root to destroy stomach worms.

28. Syphilis:

  • Take about half to one gram bark of sage leaved alangium root thrice a day or apply oil of its seeds or ground root of it on the affected. Using this process is useful to cure syphilis and the diseases caused by syphilis.
  • One should apply oil of sage leaved alangium on the affected parts twice a day because it will cure syphilis wound.

29. Rheumatism:

  • Boil 60 to 120 milligrams bark of sage leaved alangium root and dry ginger with boiled water of rice and thereafter give it to the patient. Along with heat ground leaves of sage leaved alangium and then tie it on the affected part. Using this process provides relief in pain.
  • Make a paste by grinding bark of sage leaved alangium root and coat it on the affected part, it provides relief in pain.

30. Ringworm: The patient should take about ¼ grams bark of sage leaved alangium root thrice a day regularly or apply its seed’s oil or ground root of it on the affected parts. It provides relief in ringworm and all the types of skin diseases.

31. Body swelling: Give about ¼ gram bark of sage leaved alangium root to the patient twice a day regularly to end swelling caused by liver enlargement, dropsy and liver disorders.
