Shashaka Asana



        The practice of this asana should be done on a clean and airy place. Spread a mat or bed sheet on the floor and stand upon it. Now bend your both the knees and sit on them. Keep the feet in the back side and join heels and tiptoes and sit on them. After that, bend your head forward slowly and put the head on the floor and touch to the chin on the chest. Now hold your lower part of the heels with the hands. Keep the thumbs of hands should be kept outwardly in this position and now raise your hips up as much as you can. Breathing activity should remain normal and stay in this position for 30 seconds. After that, raise the head and body upward while taking the breath slowly. Repeat this activity 3 times. 


        All types of spinal cord disorders are cured by this asana and it becomes strong and flexible. It is also useful in the treatment of backache and waist pain. The practice of this asana makes the blood circulation fast and body healthy. Dysentery, liver disorders, diabetes mellitus, catarrh, cold, cough and bronchitis are cured by the practice of this asana.

        This asana is useful for both male and female.


        Pregnant women should not do the practice of this asana because it can be harmful for them.
