Sex Determination


           One pair of chromosomes of each mother and father (1-1 pair of chromosomes of the parents) is called sex chromosomes. It determines the gender of baby. Both the sex chromosomes of female are same in shape and size and known as ‘X’ chromosomes. In male, one chromosome is known as ‘X’ and other as ‘Y’, which are small comparatively. When the ovum fertilizes with the ‘X’ chromosome of spermatozoa, girl will born and when the ovum fertilizes with the ‘Y’ chromosome of spermatozoa, boy will born.
