Taste: Big Purslane is sour.
Structure: It has two kinds: - small and big.
Quality: Purse lane is heavy in digestion and ends Kapha and Vaata disorders. It increases appetite and cures piles. It checks poison. Big purslane is warm, small and useful for eyes. It creates loose-motions and ends swelling. It also cures wounds, asthma, cough and diabetes.
Useful for Different Diseases:
1. Urine problems: Take 1-2 grams powder of big purslane twice a day, it provides relief in urinary bladder swelling. Taking 40-80 grams purslane as saag (Leaves’ cooked vegetable) twice a day is useful too.
2. Pain and Swelling: Apply ground big purslane on the affected parts, it provides relief in pain and swelling of hurts and sprain.
3. Blood disorders due to bile: Big Purslane is useful for all the types of blood bile. One should take 10-20 grams twice a day.
