Problems during old age


Mental and social problems :

         Every woman faces some mental changes in the old age as she starts to consider to herself old in a special age. If someone calls you mother or grandmother, you will feel yourself old though you are not old physically or mentally. During puberty, you were called sister or sister in law by others. You start to think about your old age when someone calls you by such titles as mother, grandmother and maternal grandmother. Thinking this way pushes you into the old age.  

         Second problem is mental-you feel that everyone in the family is ignoring you and family members consider you unimportant. Ever you were the honor of the home and you have several responsibilities as preparing food and managing everything. You get a special kind of pleasure to perform such kind of responsibilities though you head to face several kinds of troubles. You manage your home according your wish and you thought that you have the right to run your family. Children followed everything what you ordered them. But everything is changed as old age comes. You think that your right has been snatched away.     

         All family members do work according their will. You have to give consent whether the decision is wrong or right. Many times, an old woman has to observe the destruction of her home before her eyes. In this situation, an old woman shattered completely. If children respect their mother, the mother becomes free by giving all the responsibilities to their children happily. If conditions are quite opposite, the mental condition of an old woman becomes worse.  

         Loneliness is the third problem during old age-an old woman feels loneliness if she lives alone but she suffers lots of if she lives with their children. This kind of condition becomes impossible to bear for an old woman. Life becomes too much troublesome when nothing is left in life to do. In this situation, time passes with great difficulties. If the woman is ill or she feels difficulty in walking, this loneliness becomes unbearable. In such kinds of difficulties, she tries to recreate by talking with her grandsons and daughters. Sometimes, children are not allowed to talk with her. This kind of situation proves dangerous for an old woman.  

         The only solution to remain far from such kind of problems is that the woman should not consider herself old if someone calls her old. In the growing age, you should try to maintain yourself by wearing good clothes and you should try to live happy by talking with others. If you do so, you will have interest in life. Doing so is not a thing of shame but it is thing of respect. Good character cannot be gained by living dirty or in slum area. You have full right to live according your will. You should wear good clothes and passes your life artistically.

       You should increase the level of your esteem. People will respect you if this is done by you. It is not any limitation that passing life in suffocation is necessary in old age. You should be alert by making an aim in your life. You can remain far from physical and mental problems by making your life active.   

        Now the question arises here about the snatching of rights or ignoring by children. This problem troubles those people who do not want to come out from such kinds of limitations. Your right to live with your children cannot be snatched by anyone. Your children will feel their mistake one day necessarily if you are attached with them heartily and pay attention on their harms and benefits. 

         Your children will give you respect necessarily whether they give right in home or not. But, thinking about it and doing nothing is not just by any way. Think and do something by coming out from this circle. You should think yourself young all the time. Try to fulfill your desires by studying, decorating homes or performing social service. You should not think your life useless.   

         Saving for old age is very necessary. People should not expend everything on the study and marriage of their children. They should think about it before the old age. If you have money in old age, there is no need to depend on your children in old age. In this situation, children also will not ignore you. If you could not do so on time, there is no need to repent or to be nervous. 

         A new path can be made by doing work with patience. You should involve in any work until your body gets exhausted completely. If you have desire to do work, you can do everything easily. Try to be busy and alert. Try to involve in light exercises, yoga, pray in spite of body weakness. You should try to get mental peace by doing so. You will not feel loneliness and discarded if you do so.  

         Sometimes, you think that you are discarded and your life has no value and why she was alive now. Everything is attached to each other. It is the basic point of the starting of old age. In this situation, an old woman keeps on involving in her thinking by separating from all the people, society. She produces several kinds of problems too by keeping relation with the family which has discarded her.    

Physical problems:

  • As possessing laziness all the time or talking indelicately with other is not good for an old woman in the same way getting too much exhausted in happiness or doing work more than physical capacity is not good. You should try to balance between your bodily need and bodily capacity. If you want take rest, you should keep on lying until your body gets relax or energy again completely. Do work according to the body capacity and make balance between exercise and relaxation.     
  • You should do such kind of deeds in which there is no need to bend back and waist too much. Try to avoid from such kinds of deeds in which backbone has to be bend completely. Often women complain backache. Joint ache, curvature in the bones, etc. because they do not adopt right posture while doing different kinds of deeds. Doctors consult to do exercise when any kind of problem take birth in any body organ. Doing exercise is very hard in this situation. Women do not get rid of the problems relating to joints and bones easily if they have become chronic. 
  • Hard exercises should not be done by old people until you have the habit to do them. Otherwise, exercise provides harms in place of benefits. A person can be healthy and active by adopting some styles of living as morning walk, walking and sitting with erect backbone, sleeping on wooden cot without pillow, keeping backbone erect with the support of chair while doing sitting work, massaging body with oil before bath, doing light exercises followed by bathing etc. taking deep breath, keeping body in erect position, doing light exercises can be done by lying on the bed too. If you feel some curvature in the back, doing some special kinds of exercise become necessary.
  • Aging appears on the skin in the form of wrinkles. None can get rid of them completely but the appearance of such symptoms can be checked before time. Wrinkles can be reduced to some extant by a special treatment. Use umbrella while going in sunlight and include green vegetable, milk, butter in your diet for the smoothness and natural humidity of the skin. You should massage your body and try to remain far from all kinds of tensions, irritations and angers. Doing so is beneficial. Face should be massaged from below to upward so that skin may remain far from wrinkles. Wrinkles disappear by doing massage in this way if there are wrinkles on the face. Mix cream in the gram flour and rub on the dry skin. Its use provides relief. Remember one thing always that wrinkles appear on the dry skin not oil skin. 

Exercise :

  • Compress your both cheeks with the help of fingers of both hands in this way that all the pressure may come on the jaws.  At this time, contract and spread to those muscles which work to suppress the jaws tightly. Do it many times. 
  • After getting up early in the morning, stand before the sun in an erect position. Now fill air into the mouth to puff cheeks and then try to move air inside the mouth the air which is present in the mouth. Do so from one cheek to another cheek for at least 10-12 times.
  • Move your jaws towards left and right side gradually. Massage with oil on the face before doing this exercise is beneficial.

Information:

         In old age, easily digestible meal with low calorie should be taken by old people but the meal should be rich in protein, calcium, vitamins and other nutritive elements. Doing so is necessary for body strength and old woman should try to remain far from indigestion and obesity. The meal which is rich in carbohydrate and fat should be taken. All the patients of diabetes, blood pressure or heart patients should take meal after consulting to the doctor.

         If old women want to take jiggery or sugar, they can take 6 small spoons of sugar instead of bread.

        The chart given above is a chart for a healthy old person. The quantity of calorie can be increased or reduced according to the body weight. Follow the tips consulted by the doctor if you have been suffering from any disease or digestion power is weak. If an old woman is not able to purchase milk, the milk of sapreta can be drunk. This kind of milk digests easily and can be purchased easily. This milk contains all the fatty elements. Thus, deficiency of fatty elements can be fulfilled by drinking sapreta milk. Old people get complete nutrition from this chart and the body becomes active and far from several kinds of diseases.

Problems during old age:

  • Most common diseases of old age are as diabetes, blood pressure, heart problems, cancer, asthma, bronchitis, gout etc. Most of people become the patient of diabetes and blood pressure in old age. If an old woman becomes too much fat, she can be the victim of diabetes too or diabetes makes an old woman fat. If the old woman has been suffering from diabetes or obesity altogether at one time, she can become the victim of heart attack because of high blood pressure. Hence, obesity should be kept in control by taking balanced diet.
  • Keeping weight in control is necessary to remain far from joints pain and disease related to gout. Flexibility of bones starts to end because of the lack of calcium as old age comes. Bone of the body become zigzag. When bones of the body become weak, the body is not able to bear body weight. Polluted substance starts to gather in the joints in the lack of exercise and nutritive meal. Consequently, the victim suffers from pain in the knees, ankles, backbone, back, neck and shoulders. If the victim is fat in this situation, pain becomes unbearable. 
  • If you had taken too much fat in childhood, you can become the victim of obesity in old age. The victim keeps on suffering from ache in different portions of the body. Lifting weight on the head, sitting in the chair or table by bending backbone become the causes of pain in the neck and shoulders. Whether the pain is in the neck or shoulder, the victim should make a habit of sleeping without pillow on a wooden cot. If the victim is suffering too much pain, she should consult to the physiotherapy department about some exercises. By adopting these exercises, you can avoid from pain to some extant. Pain killers are also given to the patient but regular exercise is necessary to get rid of the pain. In addition to, weight can be controlled by balanced diet.    
  • If you can control on the habit of having meal, you should pay attention on one thing that weakness should not come in the body as the body weight looses. Increase the quantity of calcium, vitamin ‘B’ and protein by reducing the quantity of carbohydrate and fat.
  • If blood comes after menopause or there is any kind of tumor in the breast, you should consult to a doctor soon to test. Treatment can be done on time if such tumors are the form of uterus cancer or breast cancer. Test of jaundice, stomachache, gastritis or diarrhea is also necessary in the old age. It can be that such diseases are the informer of liver or intestine cancer.
  • If the disease bronchitis or asthma is chronic, the victim suffers from unbearable pain. Hence such kinds of diseases should be treated soon. Avoid those things which are the cause of allergy if you want to remain far from such kinds of diseases. If a patient of asthma needs oxygen, admit the victim in the hospital. Hence, if the condition of the victim is worse, she should be admitted into the hospital soon.   
  • The disease named bronchitis can be controlled by using antibiotic medicines but follow all the tips consulted by the doctor. In addition to, tablets of vitamin B-complex should be taken. The patient should avoid from cold if the patient feels too much problem. The patient should be kept away from the dirt and smoke properly.
