Introduction:

        The shape of the body becomes like the shape of a peacock in this asana. That is why it was described by the name of Mayura Asana by ancient yoga saints. The balance of the body is very needful in this asana because the weight of the whole body is on the both hands in this asana.

        Spread a mat or bed sheet on the clean floor and sit on the knees for the practice of this asana. Now bend your body forward and bend the hands from the elbow and touch to the navel and keep the palms on the floor. Make the balance of the body and try to straighten knees slowly. After that, make the balance of the whole body on the palms and try to make the body straight. This asana is difficult, so it should be done according to the capacity in the beginning. The regular practice of this asana helps in making the balance of the whole body.

Precaution:

        Making the balance of the body is very difficult in this asana but doing regular practice of this asana make it easy. First, balance can be made by bending the knees in this asana thereafter the balance of the body can be made by straightening the legs slowly.
