MALARIA FEVER

(THAND KE SATH HALKA BUKHAR*)


Introduction:

This fever comes after chillness. The temperature of the body rises up to 101 to 105 degree Celsius. It is an infectious fever which comes on the first, second, third and fourth day with chillness. The temperature comes down after sweating. There are three stages of this fever. First, fever comes with chillness and then sweat comes on the body and finally the temperature becomes down. In this disease, the liver and spleen of the patient get enlarged. This fever spreads because of a female mosquito anopheles.

Cause:

Mostly, this fever takes a person in its grip after rain. It means that this fever spreads because of mosquito. This mosquito takes birth in the pits of water, rivulets, drain or collecting water. Anopheles mosquito sucks the blood of a person. When anopheles mosquitoes bite a person, he becomes the victim of fever.

Symptoms:

In this fever, the patient suffers from such kinds of symptoms as headache, retching, vomiting, and fever after the sensation of chillness, sweating while decreasing temperature and other symptoms.

Avoidance: The patient should take julab, which clears the stomach. Soak a piece of cloth in cold or ice water and put it on the forehead of the patient in the condition of high fever.

Precaution: Do not allow collecting water in pits or other places because mosquitoes lay their eggs in such type of dirty water. Spread anti-bacterial medicines like D.D.T, B.H.C powder, or water of neem or tobacco, or kerosene oil on moistures walls, ponds, pits, gutter and other such type of places, where water can be gathered. The patient should drink boiled water and should not eat leafy vegetables.

Treatment by different medicines:

1. Basil:

  • Grind 4 leaves of black basil or maruve, 4 leaves of acacia arabica, 4 ground pieces of black peppers and one spoon caraway together thereafter boil it with water to prepare decoction. Give this decoction to the suffered children after cooling and before fever, it is useful to cure malaria.
  • Boil 15 leaves of basil, 10 pieces of black pepper and 2 spoons of sugar in a cup of water to make a decoction. Take this decoction thrice a day as a dose to get relief in malaria.
  • Grind 10 leaves of basil, 5 grams pongamia glabra, 10 pieces of black pepper and 5 grams cumin seed together thereafter prepare small tablets from it. Malaria is cured by taking tablets thrice a day.
  • Grind 10 grams basil leaves and 7 pieces of black peppers with water and give it to the patient twice a day because it cures malaria.
  • Boil 22 leaves of basil and 20-ground pieces black pepper in 2 cups of water until remains ¼ parts then mix sugar candy in it and make cool. Give this decoction to the patient to get relief in malaria.
  • Malaria is cured by taking basil leaves with black peppers.
  • Take basil leaves everyday, it stops origination of malaria. If malaria occurs, patient should eat 15 leaves of basil and 10 pieces of black pepper after reducing fever. Malaria does not occur again by using this process.
  • Take basil, it is very useful in all types of fever. make a decoction by boiling 20 leaves of basil, 10 pieces of black pepper and 1 spoon loaf sugar with water thereafter give it to the patient, it provides relief in malaria.
  • Make a decoction by boiling jaggery, black pepper and basil with water and mix lemon juice in it. This warm decoction should be taken after every 3 hours thereafter patient should cover with blanket. Malaria is cured by using this process.

2. Karanjua: Grind 5 grams seeds of karanjua and prepare small tablets from it. These tablets should be taken with water after and before 2 hours of fever twice a day because it provides relief in malaria.

3. Bustard teak: Grind 10 grams seeds of bustard teak and 10 grams seeds of pongamia glabra with water thereafter prepare small tablets from it and dry. Give one tablet to the patient with water before 4 hours of fever to get relief in malaria.

4. Cumin Seed:

  • Mix a spoon of ground cumin seed with 10 grams jaggery and prepare three doses from it. These doses should be taken with water thrice a day before fever because it is useful in the case of malaria.
  • Grind a spoon of cumin seed without toasting and mix it with three folds jaggery thereafter prepare three tablets. Give these tablets to the patient at an interval of 1-1 hour before fever (which occurs at a fixed time). Using this process for some days regularly is useful to cure malaria.
  • Grind black cumin seed, aluva, dry ginger, black pepper; soft leaves (nomboli) of Persian manna plant and karanjave kernels together thereafter prepare small tablets from it. The patient should take one tablet after every 3 hours is useful to cure malaria.

5. Onion: Mix a pinch powder of black pepper in the juice of half piece of onion and take it twice a day to get relief in malaria.

6. Myrabalan chebulie: Make a decoction by boiling 10 grams powder of myrabalan chebulie with 100 ml water and give it to the patient twice a day, it provides benefit in malaria.

7. Pomelo:

  • The patient, who suffers from malaria, should take warm juice of pomelo.
  • Pomelo juice is very useful in the case of malaria because it contains quinine element naturally, which helps to cure malaria.

8. Chiretta:

  • The patient should take decoction of chiretta in quantity of 1 cup thrice a day for some days regularly because it provides relief in all the troubles of malaria.
  • Mix 10 ml juice of chiretta with 10 ml juice of oranges and give it to the patient thrice a day, it provides relief in malaria.

9. Salt:

  • Grind fine 10 grams rock salt with 40 grams ground sugar and store it. Malaria is cured by taking half spoon this powder with lukewarm water thrice a day regularly.
  • Toast 5 spoons rock salt until turns into dark brown then mix a spoon a glass of lukewarm water and give it to the patient once a day. Use this process before fever regularly; it is beneficial. Keep attention that it should not be taken while after suffering from fever.

10. Orange: Boil the peels of two pieces of oranges with 2 cups of water until remains half water then filter it. Give this warm decoction to the patient to get relief in fever.

11. Apple: Apple should be taken in the case of fever because it helps to cure fever quickly. The fever does not occur, if the patient takes apple before fever.

12. Guava:

  • Fever is cured by drinking juice of guava and apple.
  • Eat guava, it is beneficial in malaria.

13. Honey: Grind half grams rock salt, half grams turmeric and 20 grams pure honey together thereafter cast it in lukewarm water. The patient should take this medicine at night because it cures fever and catarrh.

14. Neem:

  • Soak 20 grams ground bark of the root of neem with 150 ml water in the pot at overnight. In the next morning, cook this mixture remains 40 ml water then filter it properly.  Take this decoction thrice a day, it provides relief.
  • Grind 50 grams central bark and root of neem and boil it with 600 ml water for 18 minutes then filter properly. In the initial stage of fever, give 40 to 60 ml this decoction as a dose to the patient twice or thrice a day. It will stop malaria fever.
  • 5-10 drops of neem oil should be taken 1-2 times in a day in the case of malaria.
  • Grind 60 grams green leaves of neem and 4 pieces of black pepper together thereafter boil it with 125 ml water and filter. Malaria is cured by taking this decoction.
  • Boil the leaves and fruit of neem, black pepper, basil, dry ginger and chiretta in a glass of water until remains half water then filter it. Malaria is cured by taking one spoon this decoction thrice a day.
  • Grind the soft leaves of neem with half grams alum powder and prepare tablets equal of half gram from it. Give 1-1 tablet to the patient with syrup of sugar candy to get relief in malaria. 
  • Boil some neem leaves and 8 to 10 pieces of black pepper in a cup of water until remains half water then give it to the patient twice a day. It is useful medicine to cure malaria.
  • Mix and grind 60g the green leaves of neem and 4 pieces of black pepper then put it in 125g of water. Now give after filter it properly to the patient. It cures malaria fever.
  • Make sauce by grinding 5 pieces of neem leaves, 5 pieces of basil leaves and a spoon of lemon juice together thereafter give it to the patient to lick twice a day. It is useful to provide benefit in malaria.
  • Grind 10 grams neem bark, 10g dried coriander, 10g powder of dry ginger and 5 pieces of basil leaves together thereafter boil it with water to prepare decoction. The patient feels relief in malaria by taking this decoction 4 times in a day.
  • Malaria is cured by taking decoction of neem bark after mixing with powder of coriander and dry ginger.
  • The patient should take 2 to 4 grams powder of the internal bark of neem with coriander, dry ginger, cloves, cinnamon or chilly, chiretta and pierorhiza twice a day because it is useful in the case of malaria, typhoid, saviram fever, fever with swelling, etc.

15. Pugssley: Make a decoction by boiling 6 grams pugssley and 3 grams coriander with water thereafter give it to the patient, it provides relief in chronic fever.

16. Night Jasmine (Tree of Sorrow): Mix juice of 7-8 leaves of night jasmine with ginger juice and honey thereafter give it to the patient twice a day. It is useful to cure chronic malaria.

17. Bondue Nut: Take the powder of bondue nut seed with about half to one-gram black pepper twice a day; it is useful to cure cold fever, saviram fever and aviram fever. Keep attention that this medicine should not be taken on empty stomach.

18. Red Wood Tree: The patient can take about half gram powder of the bark of red wood tree or 28 ml decoction of it thrice a day regularly because it provides relief in malaria.

19. Mahabala: Make a decoction by boiling mahabala root and dry ginger with water thereafter give 20-40 ml to the patient, it provides relief in relief.

20. Vitex peduncularis: Cook 50-gram green or dried leaves (dry under the shadow) of vitex peduncularis with about one liter water for 10 to 15 minutes on a low flame (fire) thereafter mix sugar in it. Giving 240 to 280 ml this decoction to the patient as a tea daily provides relief in malaria. Keep attention that it should not be taken in enough quantity.

21. Phyllanthus Urinaria: Malaria is cured by taking 20-40 ml decoction of panchang (stem, leaves, fruits, flowers and root) of phyllanthus urinaria twice a day.

22. Red Chilly:

  • Grind 3 pieces of red chilly with stalk in water and warp it on the ring finger of the left hand thereafter tie muslin (malmal) clothe on it. Water should be poured on this cloth after few-few times. The malaria does not occur due to using this process before 2 hours of fever. 
  • Mix powder of black peppers and basil juice with honey thereafter give it to the patient because it helps to cure malaria.
  • Grind black peppers, kernels of indian beech and 3 grams green leaves of five leaved chast 3 grams each together thereafter prepare small tablets from it. Take one tablet with fresh water after every 4 hours before fever to get relief in fever.
  • Mix powder of black peppers with juice of basil leaves and boil seven times it. Dry this mixture and prepare tablets equal of pea from it. The patient should take four tablets after every one hour before fever. Malaria does not occur due to using this process.
  • The patient, who suffers from malaria, should take 7 pieces of black peppers with 50 ml onion juice twice a day because it provides relief.
  • The patient should tie a green chilly (without seed) on the thumb before 2 hours of fever. Using this process 2-3 times is useful to cure fever. The inflammation occurs due to tying chilly. Keep attention that chilly should be tied according to capacity.

23. Malla vermilion: Take about less than ¼ grams malla vermilion with the juice of basil leaves twice a day, it reduces malaria fever.

24. Shila vermilion: The patient should take about 60mg shila vermilion with 10 ml juice of basil leaves after every 2 hours before fever provides relief in malaria.

25. Castus Root: The patient gets relief by taking about half gram castus root with ghee and honey twice a day.

26. Night Jasmine: Prepare a decoction by boiling ground leaves of night jasmine and give 20 to 40 ml to the patient twice a day. It provides relief in malaria fever.

27. Coriander:

  • Grind coriander and dry ginger thereafter mix both together in equal quantity. Take this mixture with water thrice a day; it is useful to cure fever.
  • Make fine powder by grinding half spoon ground coriander, half spoon dry ginger, half spoon caraway and a pinch of rock salt together thereafter give it to the patient thrice a day because it provides relief in malaria.
  • Grind separate equal quantity of coriander and dry ginger. Taking half-half spoon these medicines as dose thrice a day regularly is useful to cure fever caused by cold.

28. Peepal: Mix three ground leaves of peepal with honey thereafter give it to the patient to lick; it cures asthma and cough with malaria fever.

29. Whey: Relapsing malaria is cured by drinking whey.

30. Garlic:

  • Mix 3-4 buds of garlic (without peel) with ghee and give it to the patient because it ends cold of malaria.
  • If malaria fever occurs at proper time, garlic juice should be coated on the nails of the hand and feet before fever as well as mix, a spoon of garlic juice with a spoon of sesame and suck it after every one hour before fever. Malaria is cured by using this process 3-4 times in a day.

31. Liqourica: Mix 10 grams peeled liqourica, 5 grams henbane seed and some rock salt together. Take this mixture with water 3-4 times in a day; it is useful to cure fever.

32. Mudar:  

  • Coat some salt on some leaves of mudar and prepare ash from it after burning. Giving two pinches of this ash to the patient with honey provides relief in malaria.
  • The patient gets relief in malaria, if he takes half-gram bark of mudar root with betel leaf twice a day.

33. Malabar Nut: The patient, who suffers from malaria, should take about half to one-gram bark of Malabar nut’s root or about ¼ grams powder of its leaves as a dose with honey twice a day because it provides relief in malaria.

34. Sheet Bhajji: The patient can take ¼ ml juice of sheet bhajji and betel juice with honey thrice a day in the case of malaria because it provides relief.

35. Godantee: Mix about 125 mg godantee with 125 mg pure sphatica and Give it to the patient before 2 hours of fever. It provides relief in malaria.

36. Impure Carbonate of Potash: Grind 3 grams impure carbonate of potash and 3 grams powder of long peeper together thereafter mix it with jaggery and prepare tablets. Malaria is cured by taking 1-1 tablet with lukewarm water twice a day.

37. Camphor powder: Take 5 grams camphor powder with water is useful to end cold due to malaria.

38. Asafetida: Mix 2 grams asafetida with 2 grams jaggery and give it to the patient twice a day because it provides relief in malaria fever.

39. White Catechu: Grind 10 grams white catechu with 6 grams malla vermillion and after that shuffle this mixture with neem juice and prepare small tablets equal of kidney bean from it. Giving these tablets to the patient before an hour of fever is useful to cure fever of young people. Keep attention that children and pregnant women should not take these tablets.

40. Jaggery: Mix 3 grams black cumin seed with 10 grams jaggery and give 2-3 grams to the patient 4 times in a day after every 2 hours. Malaria does not occur due to using this process.

41. Tinospora:

  • Grind a piece of tinospora (which is 5 fingers long) with 15 pieces of black pepper and boil it with 250 ml water until remains 50 ml water then put it down and give to the patient. Use this process; it is useful to cure malaria.
  • Mix small peeper or honey with juice or decoction of tinospora thereafter give 40 to 80 ml to the patient regularly, it provides relief in malaria.

42. Bengle quince:  The patient, who suffers from malaria, can take 7 ml juice of the leaves of bengle quince twice a day to get relief.

43. Nadi Asafetida (Dicamalee): Dissolve about half to 2 grams nadi asafoetida in water and filter it properly. Take this medicine (syrup) twice a day regularly; it helps to reduce trembling due to niyat kalik fever.

44. Pierorhiza: Niyatkalik fever is cured by taking 5 to 10 grams powder of pierorhiza with honey twice a day.

45. Holarrhena antidysentrica wall: Taking 1 to 4 grams toasted powder of holarrhena antidysentrica wall with honey twice a day reduces paryayik and cold fever or make a decoction by boiling indrayan and tinospora with water and take it.

46. Emetic nut: The patient, who suffers from malaria, should take 1 to 2 grams pulp of emetic nut with clove and cinnamon because it provides relief in malaria. Keep attention that excessive quantity of this medicine may be caused of vomiting.

47. Satyanashee (Yellow Thorn apple): Shuffle one to two ml milk of satyanashee with lemon juice and give it to the patient twice a day. It is useful in malaria fever.

48. Clerodendron Serratum: Malaria is cured by taking cooked vegetables of leaves of clerodendron serratum.

49. Aakada: Wrap two buds of aakada (without blossomed) with some jiggery and give it to the patient before fever. It helps to prevent fever.

50. Green coach grass: In the case of malaria, mix powder of India atees with juice of green coach grass and give it to the patient for licking twice or thrice in a day, it provides relief in malaria.

51. Alum:

  • Mix 1g alum with 2g sugar and take it before fever at an interval of 2-2 hours. Malaria fever will not be caused by using this process. This process also can be used again in malaria. Keep attention that patient should not suffer from constipation.
  • Put 1g alum into the puffed spongy sugar-cake and give it to the patient before 2 hours of fever. It helps to reduce fever.
  • Mix 1 gram loafsugar with 2 grams toasted alum and give it to the patient with water twice a day because it provides relief in malaria.
  • Mix 4 folds sugar or ground loafsugar with the powder of puffed alum and store it. Take 2 grams this medicine with lukewarm water thrice a day to get relief in malaria.

52. Small fennel: Mix half spoon ground small fennel with a spoon of honey and give it to the patient for licking. It is useful to cure relapsing fever.

53. Caraway: The patient suffers from light fever after malaria. In this case, soak 10 grams caraway in 100 ml water at overnight. In this morning, make light warm this mixture and mix some salt in it. Give this medicine to the patient for some days regularly, it provides relief in fever.

54. Lemon:

  • Make two pieces of a lemon after cutting. Fill powder of black pepper and rock salt in a piece and sugar candy in second piece. Make warm to both pieces and suck these pieces. It is useful to cure typhoid, which occurs after rainy season and vomiting caused by bile.
  • Before 2 hours of fever, grind equal quantity of black pepper, salt and alum together thereafter coat it on the half piece of lemon and suck without warm. In this way, suck the other half piece after an hour. Use this process; it is useful to cure malaria fever and seasonal fever too.
  • Mix 2 spoons of lemon juice in a cup of water and give to the patient to drink, it helps to reduce temperature of the fever. Cut two pieces of lemon and boil it with 250 ml water until it remains half water then filter it properly and mix 2 grams toasted rock salt. Giving this medicine to the patient thrice a day for 2-3 days regularly provides relief in fever. Keep attention that meals should not be taken while this medicine.
  • Take lemon juice in high kahwa without adding milk, it is useful to cure malaria fever.
  • The patient gets relief in malaria by drinking the juice of lemon and sugarcane.
  • Coat powder of black peppers and black salt on half lemon and suck it slowly-slowly. It is useful to cure malaria.
  • Mix the juice of half lemon, four spoons of water and sugar together. Malaria is cured by giving this medicine to the patient twice or thrice a day for 3-4 days regularly.
  • Fill salt and black pepper powder in lemon and suck it twice a day because it helps to cure fever.
  • Mix the juice of peels of 2 pieces lemon with 500 ml water and boil it in an earthen pot or in steel utensil until remains half quantity then store at overnight. In the next morning, giving this medicine to the patient provides relief in malaria. 
  • Mix lemon juice with water thereafter mix sugar in it according to taste. Give this medicine to the patient for 4 days regularly; it is useful to cure fever. If someone feels sanya-sanya voice in the ears, he should take quinine because it also provides relief in this disease. Milk and lemon can be used with quinine too.

55. Guava:

  • Guava should be taken in the case of malaria. Take it regularly to get relief tijara and relapsing fever too.
  • Eat guava is useful to provide relief in malaria relapsing fever.

56. Indian hemp: Mix one-gram powder of pure Indian hemp with 2 grams jiggery and prepare four tablets from it. The patient should take 1-2 tablets after 2-2 hours to cure fever caused by cold or taking one tablet of one gram Indian hemp before one hour of fever reduces velocity of fever.

57. Shyonak:

  • Make a bowl from shyonak wood and fill water in it at overnight. In the next morning, this water should be drunk because it provides relief in niyatkalik fever, Ekantara, tijaree and relapsing fever.
  • Grind equal quantity of shyonak, dry ginger, kernel of bengle quince, pomegranate and Indian atees together. Boil 10 grams this medicine with 500 ml water until remains 125 ml water then filter it. All types of fever and diarrhoea are cured by taking this decoction thrice a day.

58. Prickly Chalf Flower:  Grind equal quantity of its leaves and black pepper together thereafter mix some jiggery in it and prepare tablets equal of pea. When malaria has been spread, give 1-1 tablets to the patient twice a day after meals regularly. It will protect the patient body from attack of malaria. These tablets should be taken for 2-4 days because it is enough.

59. Brinjal: Toast soft and fresh brinjal on burnt coal and eat it with jiggery on empty stomach in the morning regularly. It provides relief in spleen enlargement caused by malaria and provides relief in yellowness of the body.

60. Indian atees: Mix 1g powder of Indian atees with two grams black pepper powder and give it to the patient with water 3-4 times in a day. It is useful to cure malaria fever.

61. Eupatorium triplinerve: Boil 20 grams panchang (stem, leaves, root, flower and fruit) of eupatorium triplinerve with 400 ml water until remains ¼ parts then cool it. The patient, who suffers from malaria, should take 5-10 ml this decoction twice a day because it provides relief in malaria fever.

62. Eupatorium triplinerve: Malaria is cured by drinking 10-20 ml juice of Eupatorium triplinerve leaves.
