All the organs of digestive system are connected to each other in this way that food goes inside the body through mouth and comes out from anus in the form of stools passing through every body parts of the body. the alimentary canal starts from the mouth. pharynx is present next to the mouth in which the holes of nasal canal, Eustachian tube and trachea open. The alimentary canal, in the form of a tube called oesophagus present after the pharynx, is come in the rear of trachea that passes through the throat and is entered in to abdominal cavity through the holes of diaphragm located on the surface of tenth vertebra. In the abdomen after diaphragm, it is modified into a bag like structure as the shape of mango, which is called stomach. After stomach, this alimentary canal is developed into a tube. The internal hole of this tube is known as pylorus attached with pyloric valve. Next to it, small intestine is present that is located inside the abdominal cavity as coiled. The initial (first) 25 cm long part of the small intestine is called duodenum. The bile duct coming from gall bladder and the pancreatic duct coming from pancreas are open in it. the ducts coming from liver are also open in it. large intestine is located at the end of small intestine. The place of small intestine from where large intestine starts, a 10 to 15 cm long tube grows too whose last part remains closed, called appendix. The first part of large intestine is grown from downwards to upwards towards the right side and the second part goes from rightward to leftward the last part goes again from left side to downward (descending colon) and opens in anus. The last part of it is called rectum.
