The small intestine has task to digest and then absorb the semi liquid food (chyme) coming from the stomach. The small intestine has task to digest and then absorb the semi liquid food (chyme) coming from the stomach. It is done (completed) by the movements of intestinal muscles and the chemical reaction of enzymes. Such types of enzymes are not only produced by the small intestine, but also by pancreas.
