Desmodium gangeticum is also known by the names of Kumuda, Dirghmulya, Batghani, Shothghani and Sarivan.
Desmodium gangeticum is nutritive and takes time in digestion. It is beneficial in fever, asthma, diarrhoea, swelling, vomiting, wound and cough. It destroys worms and eliminates vatta, bile and phlegm.
Useful in this disease:
1. Relapsing fever: Grind desmodium gangeticum, Indian goose berry, cedar, myrolelans, malabar nut and dry ginger together. Thereafter prepare a decoction by boiling this mixture. Mix honey and sugar-candy in this decoction and drink. Its use is a very good remedy in relapsing fever (a fever which attacks after every third day).
