 Composition of bones


        There is 25 percent water and 75 percent solid substance in a fully developed bone. Solid substances are of two kinds organic and inorganic which are found in the middle portion matrix of the bone cells.

        There are 30% organic substances (mainly proteins). There are ossein, osseomucoid and Osseoalbuminoid in these substances.

        Inorganic substances are in the quantity of 45 percent in which calcium, phosphorus and magnesium are major elements whereas potassium and chlorine are in little quantity. Iron, florin, lithium and stronseum are in traces. These inorganic substances sustain the hardness and firmness in the bones whereas carbonic substances bring flexibility in the body.
