Common sorrel tree is planted in gardens for fruits. Its fruit is ‘amlaved’ in Gujrati language. Its tree is big in size and leaves are big and wide.

Color: Raw fruit of common sorrel is green, which turns into yellow after ripening. Its flower is white in color.
Taste: common sorrel is bitter.
Structure: There are two kinds of common sorrel tree as ‘aamlavet and Beti, which are medium. ‘Beti’ is cultivated in gardens by gardener. Its fruit is like musk-melon.
Nature: Common sorrel is dry and hot in nature.
Precaution: Common sorrel increases bile (Pitta), which may be harmful too.
Common sorrel is very bitter, light and increases appetite and helps in stool clearly. It smelts needle and meat of goat. It is useful to end spleen disorders heart problems, tumours, breathing problems, cough, vomiting, vatta disorders, etc.
Common sorrel is the same as pear but it is three folds wide than the pear. Mango powder (Amchoor) is made by drying mango. Sourness is made form it after drying in some zones (states). It is very sour.
