Nature: Its nature is hot.

Characteristic:

Cissampelos-pareira (patha) cures many different diseases as- fever, vomiting, pain, heart problems, burning sensation of the body, itching, breathing problems, and Vatta-kapha.

Useful in different diseases:

1. Fever with loose motions: Prepare a decoction by boiling equal quantity of cissampelos-pareira (patha), chiretta (chirayata), pitpapara, buck-wheat root, dry ginger, holarrhena antidysentrica and tinospora powder together in water. After that, give 14 to 28 ml this decoction to the patient twice a day (in the morning and evening), it provides benefit in this disease.

2. Loose motion: Make the powder by grinding cissampelos-pareira (patha) root. After that, take 1 to 3 grams this powder with clove and cinnamon (dalchini); it ends fever and stops loose motions.

3. Hematuria: Taking 40 ml decoctions of cissampelos-pareira (patha) prevents hematuria.

4. Lungs disease: Take 40 ml decoctions of cissampelos-pareira (patha) twice a day (in the morning and evening), it provides benefit in this disease.

5. Bloody diarrhea: Make the powder by grinding cissampelos-pareira (patha) root. After that, take 1 to 3 grams this powder with clove and cinnamon (dalchini) twice or thrice a day, it cures bloody diarrhea.

6. Stone: Taking the decoction of cissampelos-pareira (patha) is useful to cure this disease.
