(MEDITATION)


Introduction-

        According to yoga granthas, a activity has been described by giving up the greed for all the worldly things while keeping the body healthy for producing spiritual thoughts in the mind and observing minute power (God) and that activity is called the activity for restraining the frivolity of the mind. All such activities come in mantras in which dhyan (meditation) yoga, bhakti yoga, sangirtan (musical) yoga and prem (love) yoga come. In yoga shastras, a person has to meditate on seven chakras present in the body for restraining the mind from going on wrong path. Kundilini power is awakened by chakra dhyan. This power awakens (pierces) all the chakras after awakening this power by which the mind becomes stable and spiritual thoughts start to originate in the mind.

        These chakras present in the body have relation with the divine light. Light is present at the backside of the gods and goddesses is called divine light. The statues of goddess and deities of ancient time prove this thing. A divine light appears in these statues. A type of divine power is showed behind the goddess and gods. This light is called divine light or ring of glow or shine. This light is the a symbol of them spirit. According to yoga shastra, just as different types of micro cells are present in the body in the same way chakras are present in the human body. this chakra joints the physically body with the celestial body. Celestial body is that, which cannot be felt properly. These aabhamandala (which have been showed behind the deities) belong with the these chakras and a common person does make able to appearance the micro form of the god by doing the practice of yoga activity due to these chakras. These chakras can be looked by the yoga practice. The spirit light (which flows from these chakras) keeps on turning all around the person, who does meditation.

        Generally, three chakras are in awakening condition in the all the people. Balance is the first condition of chakra but this ideal condition is found in a few people. If the person keeps on doing a work in his life, a chakra, which belongs with that work, awakens in the person. However, a chakra reaches in the sleeping condition if no work related to it is done.

Description of chakra dhyan (meditation) in yoga shastras-

        The description of many types of dhyan sadhanas have been given in yoga shastra. Meditation (dhyan) of seven chakras in the body is the easiest and simplest. All people can do the practice of chakra meditation (dhyan) sadhna. Children, old persons, patients, healthy persons and youngsters all can do the practice of it. According to yoga shastra, the balance of five elements (air, water, fire, earth and sky, which are present in body) of the body can stay by the practice of these seven chakras (saptchakra). The practice of saptachakra meditation (dhyan) is necessary for the proper development of the physical and mental power. Keep the desire of development of these powers in the mind and then the practice of saptchakra sadhna should be done. In its practice, rules, principles and techniques should be followed and the importance of its power and utility of the public welfare should be understood.

        Awakening the consciousness sleeping inside the person is the main work of meditation (dhyan). Saptchakra meditation (dhyan) sadhna is such sadhna in which the person merges his senses in his inner soul by removing from the external things. In this sadhna, this mind is stabilized on a point by controlling it. In it, internal and spiritual thoughts develop after ending the external mental thoughts. In this meditation (dhyan) sadhna, the person looks flowers of different types of colors and feels pleasure, which originates by it by concentrating with divine vision on the body chakras, which are present at the different places of the body. In this meditation (dhyan) process, meditation (dhyan) is concentrated on shahasra chakra by starting from mooladhara chakra.

        A person of any color, age, class, religion, culture and nationality, can do the practice of this yoga shastra. This does not entangle in physical structure and in any other thing because anybody can do the practice of it. Saptchakra meditation (dhyan) theory is a scientific practice. Therefore, success in this practice can be gotten only by the regular practice. Guessing its power is impossible without doing the practice.

        Existence of life can be understood by purifying conscious power by the practice of chakra meditation (dhyan) and sight of God and spiritual progress can be done by it. There is no need of money or other things to get this knowledge but will power, complete self-confidence and regular practice are necessary. 

        According to environment of modern time, saptchakra meditation (dhyan) theory is very beneficial. Depression, diseases, problems, and tension are finished by meditation (dhyan) chakra. Good health, happiness, pleasure and high life are developed by chakra meditation (dhyan). Too much importance has been given to the meditation (dhyan) sadhna by the modern medical science to make the life of human being happy and to save from many types of diseases.

        Description of six systems of Indian philosophy has been given and yoga is a system too. “Maharshi Pantajali” elucidated about the different chakras of yoga shastra systematically and clearly in his ‘Yoga shastra’ by which no path may remain incomplete in the system of practice of yoga sadhna. Especially saptchakra meditation (dhyan) sadhna is very useful to remain far from mental and physical conditions, to improve prophylactic power and to remove the conditions of depression. 

        The description of seven chakras (which are present in the body) has been given in ‘Yoga darshan’ of Maharshi Pantajali, These chakras are called saptchakra of micro body in yoga. A person gets spiritual and supernormal knowledge by concentrating on these seven chakras.

  1. Mooladhara chakra-It is present between reproductive organs and anus.
  2. Swadhisthana chakra-It is present in cartilage (upasthi).
  3. Manipura chakra-It is present the navel.
  4. Anahada chakra- It is present near the heart.
  5. Vishudhdi chakra- This chakra is present in hole of throat.
  6. Agya chakra- It is present in bhramadhyama.
  7. Sahastrar chakra-This chakra is present in the brain.  

        The description of seven chakras (which are present in body) has been given in yoga shastra. These chakras are present in different parts of the body and their names are different too. There are seven chakras present in the body and the person gets divine knowledge, divine vision and divine power by meditating (dhyan) of these chakras. The person visits God and soul by this meditation (dhyan). The meditation (dhyan) of these chakras is done by sitting in asana position. Therefore, meditation (dhyan) of these chakras should be done one by one by sitting in asana.

Introduction of different chakras-

Mooladhara chakra-

        In yoga shastras, divine power inside the body about which a description has been given is called kundilini power of that energy power. Where this kundilini power is present in sleeping condition, this place is called mooladhara chakra. Mooladhara chakra is present between reproductive organs and anus. Elements, which are present in the construction of universe, are present in the person body in the form of kundilini power.

        This energy power is present in mooladhara in the body. Mooladhara chakra has been considered the base of the origin of the world in the yoga. This power is the cause of the origin, patronage and end of the life. This chakra is red in color and there is a shape of lotus of four petals in it. Therefore, all the elements of the earth are present in the body of human being. Mooladhara chakra is rich in earth element and it is in the shape of lotus of four petals viz in the shape of quadrangle. It has great importance in worldly life. This lotus of four petals (which is present in chakra) indicates about the four directions of the earth.

        The shape of mooladhara chakra is of four petals and at this place four nerves make the shape of lotus of four petals by joining together. Four types of sounds as-Van, Shan, Shhan, San present in mooladhara chakra keep on originating. These sounds generate trembling in the parts of the brain and heart. The health of the body depends on these sounds. Mooladhara chakra is the mixture of juice, shape, odor, touch, emotions and words. It is the place of apaan vaayu and stool, urine, semen, delivery are in its grip. This is the main place of mooladhara chakra, kundilini power, supreme consciousness power of the life of human being and vitality power. This chakra is the place of the development of divine power, mental power and base of consciousness of a person.

        To keep mooladhara healthy, the person should make a concordance between worldly and spiritual power after getting victory over the fear. A person can feel a type of strange physical power in his body by awakening this power with the help of yoga activity.

Swadhishathana chakra-

        Swadhishthan chakra is present in cartilage. There is a lotus of six petals in it. In swadhishthan chakra, six nerves make the lotus of six petals by joining. Six sounds as Vam, bham, mam, yam, ram, lam keep on coming in this chakra. The effect of this chakra is from birth, family and emotions. This chakra is rich in water element. In swadhisthan chakra, an imagination in making relations with family and friends because of meeting with earth element starts to originate.

        Emotions start to originate in the mind by meditating about this chakra and the mind of the person starts to become soft and pure. Swadhishathna chakra is under the control of apaan vaayu. Reproduction activity is completed by the place of this chakra and it belongs with the moon directly. The moon controls tide of the sea too. Three fourth part of the body of human being is water and origin of maelstrom in the body is because of the imbalance of this chakra.

        Feelings of a person’s mind are affected due to this chakra. Women menses are related with the moon and these works are controlled by swadhishthna chakra. Similarity establishes between internal and external world of a person by this chakra. This chakra develops the personality of a person. The mind becomes calm by meditating on this chakra and the person gets power of dharana and meditation (dhyan).

        Swadhishthna chakra is related with sex and rest in the life of human being. The nature of the person becomes salacious and he likes rest after awakening of this chakra. Such type of person keeps on searching excitement in his life. The person, in whom swadhishthan chakra is not in awakened condition, has a little desire for sex.

Manipura chakra-

        Manipura chakra is present in the navel and it is rich in fire element. This chakra is blue in color. Here ten nerves make the shape of lotus of ten petals by joining. The color of this lotus is yellow and ten types of sounds as Dam, dhham, tam, tham, dam, nam, pam, pham, bam etc. sounds keep on resounding here.

        Manipura chakra is the place of equal air. Supplying the blood and food juice produced by the digestion system in the different parts of the whole body properly is the work of equal air. The place of equal air is from navel to heart and the digestive system is controlled by it. Health and unhealthiness of the digestive system depend on equal air. The person gets physical knowledge of his body by meditating on this chakra. Emotions of a person become calm by it.

      Manipura chakra is related with the energy power and warmth. This chakra is present near the navel. If this chakra awakens in a person, he always remains in the search of continue power and invention. Such types of people feel happiness in reigning over other people. The person, who has less power of this chakra, has opposite nature.

Anahata chakra-

        This chakra is present near the heart. It has lotus of white color in which 12 petals are present. On this place, 12 nerves make the shape of lotus of 12 petals by joining. Twelve sounds originate in this chakra as kam, kham, gam, dham, dam, cham, chham, jam, jham, nam, tam and tham. This chakra is the place of vitality power and from this place, the air keeps on going out and inside through nose.

        Vitality power completes the main activity of the body as supply of air in all the body parts, digestion of the water and food, flowing food juice in all the parts after generating it, origin of sperm count and flowing of water in the form of urine and sweat. The chakra is present in the upper part of the nose with the heart and the function of upper senses is completed by it. Air element is rich in this chakra. Vitality air is the breath, which gives life.

        The vitality gives oxygen (air) and vital power to the body by circulating in the whole body. A person establishes balance and good company between his environment and the society by meditating on anahata chakra. The person gets knowledge of all the shastra by doing concentrate on this chakra. In addition to, he has knowledge about eloquence and about the subject of life and death of this world. Such person has the characteristics of great, skilled yogis and many other good qualities.

        If anahata chakra awakens in person, he becomes uncontrolled emotionally. The person, who has weak this chakra, is rational by nature viz. such type of person discovers any subject deeply and does any work by thinking and understanding properly. People rich in this chakra are social worker. Characteristics as spiritualism and telepathy develop in people by awakening this chakra. 

Vishudhda chakra-

        This chakra is present in throat. It is in brown and it is called vishudhda chakra. There is a sensation of lots of sixteen petals here because 16 nerves join and due to their union, the shape of lotus flower appears. In this chakra, 16 sounds from ‘A to An’ originate. Divine vision, divine knowledge and auspicious emotion for the society originate by meditating of this chakra. 

        The person becomes free from diseases, fear, tension and depression and he gets long age by meditating of this chakra. This chakra is very important for the body construction because this chakra is rich in sky element and sky is one element by which out body is made of. Sky element is hollow and there is no presence of any iota in it. The sky element is very important in increasing the vitality power in the life of human being. This element is very useful for the brain and the cause behind its name vishudhda is that the mind becomes hollow and pure by meditating on this element like the sky element.

        This chakra is related with the brain. If this chakra awakens in a person, he looks worldly activity critically or in a mean way. Such types of persons understand themselves great in discussions and producing troubles for other.

Agaya chakra-

        This chakra is present between both the eyebrows. The person feels lotus of two petals in this chakra and its color is golden. In this chakra, two nerves make the shape of lotus of two petals by joining. Here two sounds originate. According to European scientists, there are two glands here named pineal and pituitary. This place is very important in yoga shastras. A person gets ability for sampragyat Samadhi by meditating on this chakra. Nerves as Ida, pingla and sushumna (spinal cord) join at this place flowing separately. Therefore, it has been described as Triveni in yoga shastra. Below mentioned lines have been called about this grantha-

Ida Bhagirathi Ganga Pingla Yamuna Nadi

Taryomdhyagata nari sushumnakhya sarasvati

        Viz. ‘ida nerve is called Ganga, Pingala is called yamuna and Sushumna (spinal cord) which flows between both the nerves) is called Sarasvati. Where these nerves join, that place is called Triveni. All the sins of a person, who meditates on these chakras of his mind, end.

       Agya chakra is the meeting place of the mind and brain. This vertical top point is the place of mind. The yogi feels kundilini power coming from sushumna way (spinal cord) in this agya chakra. The person who does the practice interjects kundilini power in agya chakra by the help of yoga practice and guru and then kundilini power is merged in sahastrar chakra by which he gets divine knowledge and godly elements. Thus he gets salvation.   

        Agya chakra is present between both the eyebrows and a person gets divine sight by meditating. This chakra is related with the controlling of the life.

Sahastrar chakra-

        This chakra is present in the brain above from Bramhandra, which is the center of all the powers. There are many color of this chakra like rainbow and a person feels lotus of many petals. In this chakra, all the vowels and consonant from ‘A’ to Ksha’ keep on originating. This lotus is half-opened and it is the center of precipitous joy.

        The sadhak starts his sadhna from mooladhara chakra and finishes in sahastrar chakra. All the powers gather by stabilizing the mind and vitality at this place and the person gets the ability for asampragyata Samadhi. The mind and vitality stabilizes in that chakra by meditating in sahastrar chakra. All bad deeds, which have been done by you in this world, end by meditating on this chakra.

        Such types of sadhak get success in finishing bad deeds and in doing good deeds. The person, who gets siddhi in khechari, is able in subjugating his mind and his voice becomes soft too. Agya chakra can be called the place of creature soul because this is the place of divine vision. This power is also called divine power and third eye of Lord Shiva. Thus, the place of soul in asampragyata is bramaharandhra, because the person gets asampragyata Samadhi by stabilizing the mind and vitality at this place.

       Sahastra chakra is situated in the brain and the person, who is able in awakening kundilini power, gets control on life and death. Last two chakras are in sleeping condition in all the people. Therefore, every person has no ability to subjugate this chakra. Hard sadhna and practice for a long time are necessary for awakening kundilini power. According to yoga gurus, the person, who lives his simple life, should not do the practice of awakening this chakra. Only meditation (dhyan) of this chakra should be done and happy and healthy life should be passed. It is the desire of present yoga and science for the life of this age.

        The meditation (dhyan) of these chakras should be done one by one. Technique of meditation (dhyan) of these chakras-

Mooladhara chakra-

        First, sit in any asana of meditation (dhyan) for the practice of this chakra. Put both the hands in gyana mudra and anjali mudra and keep your eyes closed. Keep your neck, back and waist straight. The practice of saptchkra meditation (dhyan) also can be done in shavaasana. Now first, concentrate on mooladhara chakra four fingers above from the anus, then concentrate, and stabilize your mind on this mooladhara chakra. In addition to, imagine about red lotus of four petals in the mind.  

      After that, feel about the petal of lotus flower, which are blossoming one by one by stabilizing your mind. In addition to, try to feel that joy. Imagine beautiful lotus, which have petals and middle portion of the flower. Stabilize your mind on mooladhar chakra for sometime by imaging this way and feeling that joy. After that, concentrate your mind on swadhisthana chakra.

Swadhishthan chakra-

        After first technique, bring your concentrate towards swadhishth chakra situated in cartilage and imagine about six petals of yellow lotus. In addition to, imagine that all the petals of this lotus are joined together like a bud. Look this lotus by your inner sight and blossom petals one by one by concentrating your mind there. When lotus of yellow color may blossom completely, feel its beauty and joy of this flower. Thus, stabilize your mind there for sometime and concentrate your mind on that chakra.

Manipura chakra-

        After swadhisthan chakra, concentrate in manipura chakra situated near the navel. Imagine in the mind that there is yellow lotus of ten petals in the navel and these petals are joining to each other. The person, who does the practice of meditation (dhyan) chakra, should blossom that flower with the help of his imagination and feel its pleasure by concentrating his mind. Thus, stabilize your mind on the blossomed blue lotus for sometime. After that, stabilize your mind on Anahata Chakra.  

Anahada chakra-

        After above activity, concentrate on anahata chakra viz. on chakra situated near the heart. Imagine about lotus of 12 petals by keeping the mind stabilized and calm. Imagine that there is white colored lotus flower of twelve petals near the heat and petals of this flower are in closed form. After that, make blossom all the petals of the flower by his inner sight and concentrate upon it for sometime. Thereafter, concentrate on vishudhi chakra.

Vishudha chakra-

        After above activity, concentrate on vishudhi chakra situated in the throat. Imagine about brown colored lotus of 15 petals by concentrating on this chakra. After that, imagine a condition in the mind in which you are getting blossom petals of flower on by one by stabilizing inner sight. Now, keep your mind stabilized on that place for sometime by getting the pleasure and joy of beauty of lotus flower.

Agya chakra-

        Concentrate on agya chakra situated between both the eyebrows. Imagine about the flower of lotus flower of two petals and the color of the flower is golden. Its two petals are in joined form too. Try to clear the image of this lotus flower by inner sight and imagine a picture by getting blossom the petals of lotus flower by stabilizing your mind. Look blossomed lotus and stabilizing your mind on that chakra for sometime. After that, concentrate on sahastrara chakra.

Sahastrara chakra-

        After stabilizing your mind on chakra situated near the throat, concentrate on sahastrara chakra. This meditation practice is different from all other practices. Concentrate on sahastrara chakra situated above by concentrating on all the chakras one by one. First, imagine closed flower of lotus and efforts are done for clear image with the help of inner sight by concentrating on all the chakras. But, in this chakra, half-opened flower is imagined by concentrating in sahastrara chakra. Concentrating on seventh chakra is the last practice of meditation (dhyan). The person feels pleasure, peace and truth knowledge by concentrating it. Travel of meditation (dhyan) starts from mooladhara chakra and ends in sahastrara chakra. 

        While doing the practice of meditation (dhyan) on last chakra, stabilize your mind on sahastradala lotus flower situated in the middle part of the brain. Imagine by centralizing your mind on that place that all the colors are present in that flower and it is blossomed downwards. Concentrate that this chakra is sea of reflection, center of all the consciousnesses and it is present, past and future and it is the beginning and last of the life of human being. After concentrating your mind for sometime, release your meditation (dhyan) in sahastrara chakra just opposite to mooladhara chakra.   

        Thus, concentrate on sahastrara chakra for sometime. Thereafter, remove your concentration (dhyan) from this chakra and bring your concentration on the agya chakra present between both the eyebrows. Close opened petals of lotus while concentrating on the aagya chakra situated between the eyebrows. After that, concentrate on vishudhi chakra situated in the throat and close to blossomed petals. After that, bring your concentration on anahata chakra situated near the heart and close the opened petals.  

        After that, bring your concentration on manipura chakra situated in the navel and close the blossomed flower. Thereafter,  bring your concentration on swadhishthna chakra and close the flowers petals and after that bring your concentration on mooladhara chakra situated downwards and close the blossomed flower petals and bring out your mind from the inner consciousness viz. come out from the meditation (dhyan) condition and take knowledge about your body. If a person is sitting or lying in any asana, he should take knowledge about that asana. After that, come in normal condition by abandoning the asana.  

        Move the tiptoes of the feet up and down and move the head right and left. Close and open fist for four-five times. Rub both the hands together and give smooth touching to the eyes and face. Close both the eyes by both the hands for sometime, and close and open eyes for four-five times. Sit for sometime but remain in peace and silence thereafter abandon the position of practice. After 10-15 minutes, involve in daily routine work.
