BHRINGASANA


Introduction:

        This asana is useful in the treatment of many types of diseases. Practice of this asana should be done in clean and calm environment by spreading the bed sheet or mat on the floor.This asana is useful in the treatment of many types of diseases. Technique:

        For the practice of this asana, spread a bed sheet on the floor and sit upon it. Now bend your both the legs from the knees and bring at the back side. Keep left heel by touching with the left hip and right heel by touching with the right hip. Now join both the tiptoes and heels altogether and keep a distance of 1.5 to 2 feet between both the knees. Now bend forwardly by taking deep breath and bend both the hands from the elbows and put between the knees but the portion from the elbows to palms on the floor should remain in the contact of floor. Keep some distance between both the hands and join to the fingers with each other. Raise your head up and look on the front side. Now stop your breath and stay in this position according to capacity. After that, raise your body up slowly and sit on the heels in common position by exhaling breath. Stop for sometime and start this asana again. Thus, this practice should be done 5-10 times.

Benefits:

        This asana makes the digestive system strong and increases appetite. It ends heaviness of the body and eliminates gas from the stomach. It is useful in breaking the constipation and other disorders of the stomach. It also ends weakness of the shoulders, hands and feet.
