Basal metabolism

Basal metabolism

All the metabolic changes in the complete mental and physical rest and after 12 hours of taking meal viz after the proper absorption of the meal are called basal metabolism. The body needs a little energy for the life essential activities as breathing, heart throbbing and circulation and for producing this energy, the tissues of the body need a little oxygen. A healthy person needs 1500 to 1800 calorie in day for living.

Basal metabolic Rate-BMR:

The energy used by the body for sustaining the lower normal processes of the body cells is called basal metabolic rate. Because the metabolic rate keeps on changing because of many factors so the metabolic rate is measured in basal conditions. The movement of the origin of energy is called basal metabolic rate-BMR. Often it is shown in calories per hour of the basal region of the body. (BMR=Cal/m2/h)
