          Millet is a corn. Its soft corn-ear (butthe) is also eaten after toasting. Millet is very tasty and nutritive. There are two kinds of millet as-White and Red. It has also other kind as- Chupdi, Gundali and Kamalparu. Gundali millet contains nutritive elements. Seeds of kamalparu millet are light red. Millet contains nutritive elements and grease equal of bulrush (bajara). Millet increases gas because of cold and dry in nature.

Colour: Millet is yellow, brown, red and white.

Taste: It is vapid.

Structure: It is a corn, which is very famous.

Nature: It is cool in nature.

Precaution: Millet generates gas in the stomach. It is harmful for the person who has been suffering from weakness and bile natured person.

Removing bad effect: Gulakanda removes the bad effect of millet.

Compare: It can be compared with maize.

Quality:

            Millet stops stool and brings phlegm out. It increases appetite and sperm count. It cures bile disorders and constipation.

            Millet is small, bitter and sweet in taste, heavy, dry and cool in nature. It increases sperm count, appetite and urine quantity. It is useful for the treatment of bile disorders, constipation, disorders of blood circulation and brings phlegm out.

            Taking ground millet of white seed increases body strength. It ends vatta, piles, wound, bile disorders and anorexia and brings phlegm out.

            Millet of red seed is cool in nature, sweet in taste and nutritive. It normalizes vatta, pitta and kapha.

Useful in different diseases:

1. Burning sensation: Mix millet-flour with water and coat it on the body, it reduces burning sensation of the body.

2. Over thirst: Taking bread of millet-flour with whey regularly is useful to reduce over thirst.

3. Piles: Taking bread of millet-flour dries the moles and provides relief in piles.

4. Menstrual excretion disorders: Make ash by burning millet corn-ear (buttha) and filter it. Taking 3 grams this ash with water empty stomach in the morning before one week of menstrual excretion is useful to make menstrual excretion normal. This ash should not be taken after starting of menstrual excretion by that cures disorders of menstrual excretion. 

5. Over thirst: Taking bread of millet-flour with whey is useful to get relief in over thirst. It is harmful for the person who has been suffering from weakness, vatta and bile.

6. Swelling and inflammation of stomach:

  • Make a decoction by boiling millet-flour with water and keep it before bedtime. Mix white cumin and whey in this decoction. Taking this preparation reduces inflammation of the stomach.
  • Taking toasted millet with sugar cake is useful to end inflammation of the stomach.

7. Body inflammation: Mix millet-flour with water and coat it on the body, it ends inflammation of the body.
